On Saturday 7 December 2019, over 60,000 people slept outside in cities around the world to raise awareness and help tackle homelessness and displacement. A team from Heart of London slept outside at the flagship event in Trafalgar Square and raised £33,005.90. Our Chief Executive, Ros Morgan raised a staggering £19,340. Ros was the 3rd highest fundraiser in London, leading the team to become a top ten global fundraiser.
The team received 257 unique donations totalling £33,005.90, these funds will support Thames Reach, Big Issue Foundation, The Connection at St Martin-in-the-fields and Depaul UK.
Sleeping outside in the winter weather to raise money for the homeless was difficult, but this was nothing compared to what the 320,000 homeless people in the UK must endure every single day. We would like to thank Costwold Outdoor on Piccadilly who donated care packages to our team to help them stay warm for the evening.
