On Thursday 15 November, the West End festive season officially begins with one of the most magical moments of the year, the Christmas lights switch-on and a late-night shopping evening.

Londoners and visitors alike are invited to rein in the Christmas season, on a traffic-free Regent Street to celebrate the switch-on moment. Catch the switch on of the Regent Street, Regent Street St James’s and Jermyn Street lights from 5pm – 6:30pm, and admire the twinkling lights over Piccadilly.

West-End musical showstopper Dreamgirls will perform some of the show’s feel good hits, followed by British superstar Calum Scott who will be getting the party started before Jodie Whittaker, British actor and the first female to play The Doctor in Doctor Who, will press the switch on button alongside Heart Radio’s Breakfast presenters Jamie Theakston and Sian Welby. Heralding the start of the festive season, it’s a must-see as the stunning spirits light up once again on one of London’s most iconic shopping street.

Regent Street and Jermyn Street will be traffic-free for one night only to accomodate for a late night shopping evening following the switch-on, with an array of in-store and on-street surprises, from special shopping events to musical acts, and extra special gifts.

View all the offerings available here, on a special map and plan your journey through Piccadilly, Jermyn Street, Regent Street and Regent Street St James’s.

The event will be free to attend, so see you there to celebrate in style!
