We would like to inform our members of a large scale filming project taking place next week in Leicester Square and the surrounding areas for Jack Ryan 2, the follow up series to the hit Amazon television show.

This is a Medium Impact event.

This three-day shoot will be in the immediate vicinity of the Steak & Co restaurant. Key locations include Irving Street, Charing Cross Road, Orange Street and Leicester Square. The filming will also include a simulated sniper gunshot (no shots will be fired) and a foot-chase from the scene.

An aerial drone will be used on one day, as part of the filming. Due to the complex nature and controls required, this will take place between 10:00am – 12:00pm. A number of rooftops in the area and windows will be used including Charing Cross Library and the Garrick theatre

Filming signage and stewards will be placed on all access points into the filming area to make the public aware that there is no danger. Police will be present throughout the four days to reassure the public. With the exception of the drone filming, Leicester Square and the surrounding areas will remain open to pedestrians at all times.

A further updated Notice will be distributed prior to the filming.

Key timings include:
7:00am – 7:00pm – Monday – Wednesday: Traffic Management on Orange Street/Charing Cross Road Triangle

Key locations include:
Leicester Square and Leicester Square Gardens, Irving Street, Orange Street and Charing Cross Road.

Additional operational details:
To facilitate clearance of shot, an alternative plan to re-direct some delivery traffic during the 6:00am – 10:00am period will be managed by the production company. Where feasible, vehicles will be re-routed along the North Terrace and out of the Square via Leicester Street, instead of Irving Street. This will be dynamically assessed and if vehicles need releasing via Irving Street, this will be managed.
