Please be aware that the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 will be taking place on Sunday 13 October 2019.
The weekend includes a family friendly fun run on Saturday, Race for Kids for up to 10,000 people. The Half Marathon will include approximately 16,000 runners on the day.
There is minimal entertainment on the WCC sector of the route (King Charles Island) and only one water station which is located on the Whitehall / Horse Guards Avenue junction. A first aid station will be located on the Pall Mall East / North Terrace junction.
The Organisers, Royal Parks and Police are in liaison regarding clearing the road space from Extinction Rebellion. Street infrastructure and entertainment positioning may differ on the day, especially around the Trafalgar Square area
This is a high impact event.
The event may affect your business’s delivery times. Road, cycle routes and footpaths will be closed from 5am until 1pm.
3:30am: Royal Parks road close
7am: Parliament Square, Whitehall, Trafalgar Square area, Strand and Aldwych close
7:45am: Park Lane closes
8am: Hyde Park corner closes
8:30am: Restricted access to Waterloo Bridge
9am: Race starts
11:30am: Waterloo Bridge re-opens
12pm: Park Lane and Hyde Park Corner reopen
12:30pm: All Westminster roads re-open
3pm: All runners have cleared the course and all Royal Parks roads re-open
