I join Heart of London Business Alliance as Chief Executive at this pivotal time.

Today we publish our business proposal for the next five years. We have set out our vision to build on the reputation of Piccadilly and St James’s, and Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus areas as a world-class destination that is central to the identity of London’s West End. Our mission remains as relevant today as it was when the BID was founded 15 years ago.

This is a challenging time for the area, as we confront issues that will determine our businesses’ futures. Following major events this year such as the London mayoral election, the EU Referendum and the Government’s decision on business rates, Heart of London Business Alliance has a huge opportunity to lead; we need the support of our partners now, more than ever.

As an organisation, our members and key partners, including Westminster City Council, Transport for London and the Greater London Authority have been instrumental to what we have achieved in recent years. It is the support of this unique network that enables us to ensure the high-standards we deliver are maintained, as we continue to drive excellence in placemaking over the next five years.

In February, you will have the opportunity to support our ballot campaign. The team look forward to meeting you and will also be hosting a series of thought-provoking events. These events will address specific issues, including the economic challenges ahead in 2017.

Dates for the diary:

  • Voting opens from Tuesday 21 February 2017
  • The deadline is 5pm on Thursday 23 March for all votes to be cast, or postal votes returned
  • The result will be announced shortly after midday on Friday 24 March
