A Formula 1 motor racing event will take place later today, Wednesday 12th July 2017, in the Trafalgar Square and Whitehall area of central London.

Road closures will be in place from 10.00 am and will remain until about 10.00 pm.

The actual event will be between 1200 pm – 9.00 pm and will include a F1 showcase and a Car Parade , musical performances, interviews with F1 legends, personalities, team principles and live links to the Paddock on Whitehall Place from Trafalgar Square.

Following the car parade the attention will return to the stage on Trafalgar Square with the leading contenders for this weekends British Grand Prix head-to-head, to build the excitement for the Grand Prix action.

Entry to the event will be on a first come basis for public viewing areas, no tickets are available and the viewing areas once full will be closed.

Restricted public access to the following viewing areas:

  • Whitehall between Horse Guards Avenue and King Charles Island
  • King Charles Island
  • Trafalgar Square

It is anticipated that the structures used will be removed from 10.00 pm and may take until the early hours of the morning before all the area is returned to normal.
