Support for the hospitality and leisure sector in the West End
Through a short survey, we want to understand the true scale of staff shortages in our district and to find out how we can best support you.
Businesses across London have been facing recruitment and staffing issues for several years, particularly in the hospitality, cultural and retail sectors. In the wake of Brexit and the pandemic, the issues have intensified, and London’s businesses currently face a severe shortage of both skilled and unskilled workers, and nowhere is this issue more acute than in the West End.
In June this year, there were 174,000 permanent vacancies in hospitality in the UK, which is up 83% compared to 2019 and the biggest increase of all major employing sectors.*
Heart of London recognises that many of our members are in a situation where they cannot fully open due to staff shortages, hampering the economic recovery and preventing those businesses from reaching their full potential.
We want to understand the true scale of staff shortages in our district, to find out how we can best support our members.
We ask you to spare one or two minutes to complete our survey of just seven questions. All responses will be treated as confidential.
