On Saturday 11 May 2019 an annual community event to celebrate Buddha’s birthday is taking place. The event will begin with an official unveiling of the Buddha, followed by a parade of approx 60 people.
The event will utilise the north quadrant of the Square only. A small statue of Buddha will be placed in the middle of grass area and public will be able to make offerings and bathe the Buddha. There will be a series of small (3m x 3m) gazebos erected on the quadrant for low level activities, information and one as a staff marquee.
The event is anticipated to attract between 500 – 1000 people across the afternoon.
This is a low impact event.
