The draft London Plan is available for comment until 2 March. It is the overall spacial development plan for Greater London, and sets the framework for how London will change and develop over the coming decades. Once adopted, likely in 2019, this plan will form a vital part of the planning process, setting the boundaries within which local plans (like the Westminster City Plan) can operate. City Hall is keen to portray this plan as a break from the past. The new London Plan is far more ‘directive’ towards London’s 32 boroughs, with more detailed and specific policies across many issues.
