Created originally by the Royal Parks Foundation as a fundraising event to raise funds to support the maintenance of the Royal Parks, the half marathon returns for its 10th year.

The weekend includes a family friendly fun-run on Saturday 13 October – Race for Kids for up to 5,000 participants. This race will operate within the boundaries of the park.

The Half Marathon will include approximately 18,000 runners on the day. There are 556 charity partners engaged within the event.

There is no entertainment on the Westminster City Council sector of the route and only one water station which is located on the Whitehall/Horse Guards Avenue junction. A First Aid station will be located on the Strand.

Key timings include:
5am – Royal Parks Roads Close
7am – Whitehall, TSQ area, Strand and Aldwych close
7:45am – Park Lane closes
8am – Hyde Park corner closes
8:30am – Restricted access to Waterloo Bridge
9am – Race starts
11:30am – Waterloo Bridge re-opens
12pm – Park Lane and Hyde Park Corner reopen
12:30pm – All Westminster roads re-open
3pm – All runners have cleared the course and all Royal Parks Roads re-open
